OB-PS celebrates 100 years of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting

The OB-PS Host Committee, OB-PS members in the United Kingdom and Girlguiding UK offer members and their guests a warm welcome to Bath from 13th-17th May 2010. The OB-PS Annual Event will celebrate the centenary of the foundation of the Girl Guide/Girl Scout Movement and explore one of the most wonderful cities in the world.

This Event is now oversubscribed and we no longer accept any further registrations.

Roman BathsThe welcome reception will be held in the Roman Baths, which will be floodlit for the occasion. Drinks and food will be served around the main bath itself and the whole site will be open for our private use.

The Presentation Ceremony and Members’ Meetings will be held in the historic Guildhall, with its 18th century architecture and huge chandeliers. The banqueting room, where our events will be held, has often been used for royal visits. The UK National Scout and Guide Museum will mount a small exhibition here throughout the event.

The Members’ Centenary Dinner will take place in the magnificent Ballroom of the Georgian Assembly Rooms, preceded by a Reception hosted by the City of Bath and an opportunity to explore the Museum of Fashion on the same site.

We also plan a series of joyful events to celebrate the centenary of the foundation of BrowniesGirl Guiding/Girl Scouting with ‘100 years of singing’ celebrations with today young members/traditional cream teas/unveiling of a permanent memorial of our centenary visit
