Young women given opportunity to attend conference
4 August 2010
Two young women were able to attend the 13th European Guide and Scout Conference in Brussels this month as a result of a grant from the Anne Scott Fund. Zsofi Szalai from Hungary and Agnija Jansone from Latvia were both able to join over 450 Guide and Scout leaders from all over Europe as they gathered in Brussels for the conference.

It’s very nice to be part of the decision making process in the region. I like that the conference brings together so many people to discuss, share, take decision and inspire each other. The conference helps me to carry out WAGGGS’ mission and programmes with better quality in my home country. I’m very grateful and joyful to be here and be part of this event. Zsofi Szalai |
Charlotte Christ Weber, outgoing President of the Olave Baden-Powell Society also attended the conference to spread awareness about the Olave Baden-Powell Society and the Anne Scott Fund.
The Anne Scott Fund provides grants of up to £400 to young women to attend international events or participate in training seminars.
