The Board of directors of the OB-PS consists of members who have been nominated from amongst the membership to serve on the Board. Currently, they serve for a period of five years, although that is currently under discussion, and the Board can consist of up to 15 members.
The Board has the responsibility of directing the policy of the Society, taking care of its business in between Members’ meetings, and giving reports to the members at their meetings during the Annual Events. They are also actively involved in the recruitment of new OB-PS members.
Since they only meet during the Annual Events, much of their business is undertaken by telephone and email. The Board is led by the President, Charlotte Christ-Weber from Switzerland, and the Vice-President, Elinor Ferdon from the United States. The countries represented by the Board members very much reflect those of the membership, and include representatives from Ghana, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Denmark, UK, New Zealand, the Netherlands and Nigeria.
The Patron of the Society, HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark, is an active participant in Board meetings, and attends each meeting.
